groovy tea tuesday

I received this serendipitous gift of a fun "tea towel"
and a beautiful tea mug
from a far away (in distance only) friend

it actually came in the mail last tuesday
but I had already posted my gig
so I can vouch for the absolute fun of this mug
I've been using it all week!

I wonder if I've been developing scurvy
what with all my cravings for oranges and citrus
peeling an orange
drinking the tea
and look who just flew in

The Middle Child has been home today
she saw me folding cranes
and
folded me this orange one

she is reading
in class

there are no coincidences in life

happiness? (t on 2sday)

I found this tea tag really irritating

the idea of being happy as much as I breathe seems so ludicrous to me

who can do that?

any thoughts?

if I made a tea tag about happiness and breath it would say something like:

"happiness is over rated ...
... breathing is not"

*
and now, let me take you on a garden tour
snowdrops

hellebore

muscari

korean lilac "miss kim"
heather

rhubarb

mock plum

primrose

Thanks for dropping by for Tea on Tuesday!
if you want to play, just link your blog here on the Mister Linky gadget
and don't forget to breathe (all the time)
and smile (when you feel like it)

a world of grief and pain

have bloomed

the land of counterpane

quilt landscapes:

I'm nearly done with the piecing together of this scrap quilt for my oldest child
it is completely hand sewn
and no I am not crazy
:)
it's very very pleasant to
sit
and
sew

I call it
"the slow sew"

a haiku:

why do the slow sew?
same reason to do the slow dance:
touch and breath and love

tea and lighting

I had the idea of showing you some signs of spring from my garden
and I got quite distracted when I got down to business with my camera

so I'm having a change of subject here

crocuses (with back lighting)

I noticed a couple of years ago
while shooting pictures for this blog
that backlight is what I love

crocuses (with front lighting)

when I get between the sun and my subject
the colors and shapes go all flat
and remind me of old magazine layouts
or jigsaw puzzles
or those awkward family photos
(with everyone squinting because the sun is in their eyes)

morning tea (with back lighting)

to me, backlight is more like real life
I like to sit with MY face to the sun
and what I see around me is bathed in light

morning tea (with front lighting)

.... not flooded in light ....
... just a thought while in the garden today ...

* * *

... oh yeah, and my tea this morning is Red Clover Tea ..... with the LAST Girl Scout cookie
what are you having?

I'm still trying out Mister Linky

a cup of sunshine

my tea today is a new one I picked up at my local tea shop

I'm in there about once a month to pick up my
Montana Gold Tea
(which you can order online at everythingtea.net)

the Montana Gold is really for my daughter
(it's a delicious rooibos tea with orange and cinnamon .... she drinks it in the car on the way to school)

but every time I'm in there
I find something tempting for me

I don't succumb to the chotchkas
(although I would like to get an owl someday)

but I do love to bring home a new tea to try

and on rainy days such as these I need something full of sunshine

what are you having today?

What is Tea on Tuesday?
... click on the tab by that name at the top of the page to find out more.

Today I am experimenting with "Mr. Linky"
I usually have a blog list and may go back to doing it that way,
but I thought we could try something a little different today ....

... but, please leave a comment even if you don't do the Mr. Linky thing
